How it works:
  • each 16th row gets PPQN÷4 ticks (24 PPQN → 06 06 06 … = no groove)
  • each hit’s offset from the grid is rounded to whole ticks; a late hit adds to the previous row, subtracts from its own (e.g. … 07 05 …)
  • rows always sum to 16 × ticks-per-row, so tempo never drifts
  • higher PPQN = finer rounding
  • values floor at 01 — 00 would skip the step
  • waveform marks: blood-red = detected hits, violet = reconstructed groove
